Andrew Leighton, Owner Since 2008
Los Gatos Iron Works Inc. owner, Andrew Leighton, has been providing quality, timely iron gate services products since 2008. With over 10 years experience in the automatic gate and access control industry, Andrew began his career training to build quality automatic gates from the beginning. After graduating from Humboldt State University in Northern California with degrees in Industrial Engineering and Business, Andrew worked in safety compliance at the world-recognized Underwriters Laboratories. Gaining a strong understanding of safety compliance and codes has been very helpful as an automatic gate contractor.
After making a career change Andrew worked in biometric access controls and personally helped launch three new access control products for an Ingersoll-Rand owned company in the Bay Area. Learning the behind the scenes technology and logistics of access control and their related products has turned out to be equally as important as the safety training already gained.
With the access control knowledge he needed, Andrew moved into the automatic gate world by pursuing and successfully landing a sales job at one of the biggest (and once best) automatic gate contractors in the San Francisco area. There he spent six years working through all phases of automatic gate contracting, learning everything from installation and service procedures, contract and insurance requirements, project management, to sales lead generation and acquisition.
Andrew has a beautiful wife and two sons at home and loves spending what free time he has with them. When he’s not at home with his family, you will either find him outdoors in pursuit of nature or at the shop building some type of project. Personal projects have ranged from 4-wheel drive vehicles to fishing products, and woodworking to helping out friends and family with metal fabrications.
